Before You Register

Send us a photo for your student ID card

Save Time At Registration – Send Us Your Student Identity Card Photo Now

To speed up the registration process, please send your photograph by email before registration. This will mean the card will be ready and waiting for you when you arrive on registration day.

Please follow these guidelines when emailing us your photo:

  • Ensure it is in JPEG (.jpg) format.
  • The photo should be a passport style shot showing your head and tops of shoulders only, your facial features should be clearly visible (glasses are acceptable). – you can use the Microsoft Paint programme or Photoshop on your PC to crop your photo if need be. Your facial features should be clearly visible (glasses are acceptable).
  • Before emailing it please rename it using the following format: your surname, one space, then your regnum (the 6 digit registration number you received in this letter from Registry) i.e. Smith 090173.jpg and then send it to photoid@smuc.ac.uk.

If you are unable to do this, we will be able to take your picture during registration but there will be a queuing system in place.

 

Complete the Student Experience Survey

Student Experience Survey 2012Prior to registration you must complete the online Student Experience Survey. To complete the survey you'll need to have the following available for reference:

  • Your timetable
  • Your regnum (the 6 digit registration number you received in this letter from Registry)
  • The full postcode of the place where you’ll be living during term time this year (if you’re going to be living in a hall of residence your postcode is listed in the survey). If you don't know your postcode you can find it using Royal Mail Postcode Finder.

Please give yourself 30 minutes to complete this so you won't have to rush it, and make sure you answer every question or you won't be able to progress to the next page.

Buy your Freshers’ Week wristband (optional)

A Freshers' Week wristband pass gaining you entry to ALL Freshers’ Week events AND the Freshers' Ball is £50.00 per person (non refundable). These are available to buy from the St Mary's Students' Union (SMSU) website and at the Enrolment Village, which you'll pass through on registration day.

If you are paying for your wristband online you will pick it up from the Enrolment Village.
