St Mary’s Athletes Go Head to Head with Ivy League

Thursday 20th June 2013 | St Mary's University College, Twickenham Athletes will compete against Dartmouth and Brown Universities in their Ivy League Tour.

Athletes from St Mary’s University College, Twickenham are set to go head-to-head with teams from US Universities Dartmouth and Brown as part of their Ivy League Tour. The Ivy League Athletics Match is being held at St Mary’s Strawberry Hill campus on Thursday 20th June and will see St Mary’s students, athletes and guests such as Stephanie TwellEmily Pidgeon and Andy Vernon compete in track and field events against the Dartmouth and Brown teams. As one of London’s top performing sports institutions, St Mary’s regularly hosts sporting events and meetings for professional sports teams, students and the community. The University College also hosted athletes from 10 countries as part of their pre-Games training camps in the run-up to the London 2012 Olympic Games. St Mary’s Director for Sport Andrew Reid-Smith commented, “St Mary's is delighted to welcome a combined team from Dartmouth College and Brown University and we are looking forward to an excellent evening of athletics.” The event is being held on Thursday 20th June from 5.30pm.
