Award Winning Haste Theatre Returns to St Mary’s

Haste Theatre Company, comprised six postgraduate students from St Mary's University College, Twickenham, are set to return to the Drama St Mary's stage.

Haste Theatre Company, which was set up by postgraduate drama students as part of the MA Physical Theatre (International Ensemble) at St Mary’s University College, Twickenham, are set to return to the Drama St Mary’s Theatre for a one off performance on Wednesday 18th September. Most recently they toured with their show Oyster Boy internationally and won awards for Adversity, Spirit of the Fringe and Creativity at the San Diego and Rome Fringe Festivals. Now back in London they hope to showcase their progression as an internationally recognised female drama ensemble. The award winning Oyster Boy is a dark comedy that tells the story of a boy who is born with an oyster-shell shaped head and his parents’ struggle to raise him as a son. The St Mary’s born group tell the story, based on writings by Tim Burton, by showcasing contemporary and visually impressive theatre through simple means, aiming at appealing to international audiences. This performance opens an exciting new Autumn/Winter season for Drama St Mary’s, which also hosts pioneering physical theatre company New International Encounter in October, with their new show North, North, North. Tickets cost £5 and all performances are open to the public. The performance begins at 5pm in the Drama St Mary’s Studio 3. For tickets and more information or any of the Autumn/Winder season at St Mary’s University College visit the website.
