The British Association of Sport Rehabilitators and Trainers (BASRaT) is hosting its 14th Annual Symposium at St Mary’s University College, Twickenham.

The British Association of Sport Rehabilitators and Trainers (BASRaT) is hosting its 14th Annual Symposium at St Mary’s University College, Twickenham on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th November. Aiming to highlight the increasing importance of rehabilitation as a specific component of the treatment pathway, the hands-on two day conference is a blend of keynote sessions, workshops and seminars delivered by leaders in the field of pain, rehabilitation and performance including Richmond Stace, David Tiberio, Jon Goodwin and John Davie. The themed approach will take delegates from the initial phases of dealing with pain, the brain and motor control issues, through to the rehabilitation phase and onto effective performance, providing insight into how we define rehabilitation, where it fits and why it is so important. The conference is directed at all healthcare practitioners including Osteopaths, Chiropractors, Physiotherapists, Strength and Conditioning and Sport Rehabilitation professionals. Michael Nicol, St Mary’s Clinic Director, commented, “This is a great opportunity to get the fields of Physiotherapists, Chiropractors, Sport Rehabilitators, and Strength and Conditioning Coaches all together to present their ideas and philosophies in a truly multi-disciplinary way.” The event has generated a range of industry interest including Core Kinetic, The English Institute of Sport, Movement Performance Solutions and Gray Institute who will be exhibiting over the weekend. Students from St Mary’s and current practitioners are also delivering poster presentations relating to their current research. Candidates will have the opportunity to answer questions from delegates regarding their research, with a prize on offer for the best piece. The Saturday evening will also feature a drinks and dinner reception hosted by the BASRaT community in Twickenham. The symposium is open to members of the public and tickets cost from £95, with discounted rates for students.
